Nature week, Aalborg event, parents day and Open House!

Dear reader!
The week has once again been bursting with good energy, lots of projects and lovely students! Monday started science week, Tuesday the teachers had a really nice science show in the ballroom. The students were tested to see if they had slept enough in the Fanta-sleep, a new wonder drug for teenagers that, when mixed with saliva, shows if you're rested! (Pink is OK)

On Tuesday, we had a visit from Mr. Reghu, who is the director of our friendship school in Mitraniketan, India. He is on a trip to Europe and it was a great honour to have him visit Ranum. The picture shows Mr. Reghu between teachers and guest teachers of the Indian team.

On Wednesday we had a farewell dinner with our Chinese guest teacher Lai, she presented the school with a very nice picture "Riverside Scene at Qingming festival". The picture is 3 meters long and has the status of the Chinese Mona Lisa. It now hangs in the new part of the World Kitchen. In the evening, Lai composed a beautiful Chinese dinner in collaboration with volunteers in the kitchen.

Andreas Larsen's English team had Dress-up day in English and there was style all over both teacher and students. It makes for both a party and colour, as well as increasing motivation in the classroom!

On Thursday, the dance team went to Aalborg, where they performed in front of our RE-designed bus, while gastronomy served refreshments and media students reported to FB and distributed the new Profila newspaper. Today, Friday, over 45 students went to a big after-school football tournament. Both the boys' and girls' teams did honourably and came 2nd in their group. During the day we prepared for a weekend. Tomorrow is Parents' Day, where in addition to talks with the contact teachers, we have information sessions about the new cultural profile courses to India, Ghana, USA, Nepal, Europe, the Nordic countries, Japan and Nicaragua. The day ends with a wide range of profile activities. These include Lars Jeppesen's barbecue school, diving, sailing, adventure, music, design, martial arts, climbing, dance and street performance, as well as design.

On Sunday morning, we will once again be ready to welcome guests and open the doors for Afterschool Day from 1 to 5 p.m. In addition to guided tours, the various profile subjects will be running a number of activities and there will be presentations on the school's values and afterschool life in the banquet hall. The gastronomy team will prepare a large shark on the grill, and it will be possible to get exciting tastes of both shark and parrot fish in our world kitchen. Everyone is welcome!

Next week we will be visited by 10 Thai students who will follow RE for a month and stay at the new international hallway. 10 students have been boddies and will be hosts for the foreign students. The week will focus both in the academic subjects and in the profile subjects on the upcoming profile subject trips in week 41:
Diving students are off to Egypt, Sailing to Croatia, Horseback Riding and Adventure are off to Austria and the Alps. The RIC students are staying in private accommodation and attending Yale University College in Wrexham. Gastronomy visits Copenhagen with our Thai guest students and Music, Dance and Design take on Berlin for a week packed with creativity and inspiration. Both students and teachers will need a good long autumn break after the next few weeks! Read more about the profile trips on travel

We are looking forward to a busy weekend and hope to see as many people as possible at Parents' Day and the Open House.
"Bring your friends!"

Best regards and have a great weekend!
