23 Aug Great intro weeks!

Dear reader!
Intro weeks are now over and students have gone home for a well-deserved extended weekend. The last week has been focused on the books and everyone is now placed in classes in the leveled teaching. In the profile subjects we are also beyond presentations and it has gotten serious. The sailors had a great start to the week with super weather and the surfers have been airing out the new sails and boards.

Weekend with full pressure! Students have been driven pretty hard this weekend too. Friday night we had Introfest with the theme of colors and it was a super nice night! Even though the students were tired after the party, there was a program both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, all the contact groups were doing the big REOlympics, and on Sunday there was a nice layer cake race in addition to swimming tests.

At the community gatherings we have focused on the concept of Freedom, the free school and the students' opportunity to help shape the school year at Ranum Efterskole. And they have already come up with many really great ideas for, among other things, the upcoming profile days in term 2. We also elected the student party committee and student council, and there is already a meeting of the volunteer parent council on Sunday at 7 pm in the canteen.

Pedagogical we have had a fantastic start, with very few challenges and a really good and strong community across age, houses and profile subjects etc. Of course we feel the home weather once in a while, but few have been hit so hard that it was unbearable. Students are generally really good at helping each other and showing consideration, as well as taking each other on. Our Italian guest students are visiting their boddies this weekend and they were very excited.

Introugen ended with all contact groups gathering for a round-up on the lawn, where they were handed their mobiles after 9 days. DRP4 came by and made a report, see it here. Numbers were shared and a strong new community was formed like never before!

In the coming week there is a focus on the book classes, profile subjects and many are looking forward to the activity subjects, which have become a hit. Tuesday evening there is a concert at Imaginationloftet with Dance with Dirt.

On Sunday between 18.-21.30 the students will return and then we will start the first "normal" Ranum week. We look forward to it!
