23 Mar Football, Saint Hans, concert and gala!

Dear reader,
The last week of afterschool has been marked by incredible good mood and lots of energy. Since Sunday afternoon, the students have been enjoying each other and using every minute and every room of the school. They have written memory books and participated in a wide range of exciting activities both day and night. There has been a great atmosphere, with students enjoying their freedom after exams and being able to spend time together almost day and night.

It has been a fantastic year at the afterschool and this was confirmed at the community gatherings this week, where we both premiered the music team's Afterschool song, a beautiful Ranum Afterschool video made by the students, and we ended the school year by hearing about N.F.S. Grundtvig and his importance for the afterschool year we have lived together. It is both a sad and a beautiful time, and tonight at the Gallafesten there is no one more beautiful in this country than the students of Ranum Efterskole College.

Monday afternoon was quite wet, yet many were on the water boating, in the water diving and enjoying football matches and fun.

Tuesday: This year's Ranum Efterskole College race & Saint Hans

On Tuesday, we made areas clean and organised both a big running competition and a football tournament. There was also a fantastic soap and water slide and many pupils are involved in the preparations for the final Gala. Discover the atmosphere of the running competition. In the evening there was St. John's night and the students had made a variety of little witches. Carsten Ardal gave the bonfire speech and the music team gave an open-air concert at the big bonfire site.

Saint Hans evening at Ranum Efterskole is all about fun. Pizza in the rooms for dinner, and bonfire with accompanying music and roasted marshmallows.

The winners were contact group 34, 24 got 2nd place, 4+3 came third.

Photo & Video Competition P3: Winners announced

The last photo & video competition ceremony was held on Tuesday where the winners of 500 kr in different categories & a GoPro camera were announced.

Wednesday: the annual football match - Teachers versus Students

On Wednesday, students and teachers battled it out in this year's football showdown, and then most contact groups made the final visit to their contact teacher's home. On Wednesday night, students in every house were awakened for the big night-night game, where teachers got points for scaring the living daylights out of students. Maybe next school year we'll start sending orcs and zombies around the houses at night.

The most important football match of the year ended with a good slap to the teachers. However, the decoration was for a big 5.

Thursday: Livorno tour and concert with Souvenirs

On Thursday, all students were busy cleaning their rooms in the morning and in the afternoon we went to Livø - the Pearl of the Limfjord. The Livø ferry and RIB boats carried the students back and forth, and they had the opportunity to experience the beautiful island on a post-race. The kitchen provided lovely food and lots of love my on the island. In the evening, the band Souvenirs played a terrific concert with lots of emotion. The evening ended with the students giving the tree of life in the school yard a huge hug.

Friday: Gala festivities!

Today, Friday, we have cleaned the whole school and especially the room cleaning has been a challenge for some. Now we are a few hours away from the biggest party of the year. The final Gala starts with a photo sceance, a nice dinner and afterwards lancier, and an award show.

Graduation tomorrow

Tomorrow Saturday is Graduation and we are expecting 1200 parents and siblings. We have moved the event to the large lawn in front of the main building and hope that the Danish summer will be kind around noon.

PROGRAMME FOR DIMISSION - Saturday 27.6.

08.00-09.00 Cleaning up and packing the last things in the bags - area cleaning one last time.
09.30-11.00 Parents come and pack cars. Morning coffee in the houses for parents.

Parents help clean the rooms and the token key is exchanged for a Blue Book. Rooms must be returned cleaned before Dinner.
11.10 Graduation on the lawn in front of the Main Building, so bring clothes according to the weather forecast.
12.15 Lunch and coffee in the dining room and tent, while students hug goodbye at the Tree of Life.
13.30 Last hug and have a great summer.
