25 Mar Easter eggs, acid reflux and winter bathing
Dear reader,
The short Easter week started with a nice weekend, where there was a trip to Bulbjerg and Klim beach, where the students experienced the fishing boats on the beach and the North Sea.
Monday we held a Swedish theme day
..and of course it was sour cream, crayfish, Swedish sausage, and meatballs and mashed potatoes in the evening. Food should move the senses, but perhaps acid reflux is a bit much, at least some students fled after attending the opening in the square and experiencing the smell. Some cool students challenged their senses of smell and sight, tasting the fermented herring and expressing that it was not as bad as expected.
On Tuesday evening, the kitchen team served leg of lamb with side dishes according to all traditions. It tasted really good and although many people are not used to eating lamb, it was eaten up. The core house held a sleep-over in the evening, where the students slept with each other across the rooms, it was really nice and a success we can repeat.
On Wednesday morning the sports team went out to try winter swimming in Løgstør Bredning.
The rest of Wednesday was Easter, at the morning gathering the Easter letters to the warden were announced, and as he could not guess any of the senders, Easter eggs were the order of the day.
In the middle of the gathering, the lights went out and a spotlight fell on the stage where Jonas B.J. proposed to Siv Marie H., thus revealing the bride and groom of the year for the big wedding weekend after Easter.
After lunch and cleaning, everyone gathered in the banquet hall, where the REC Easter Bunny kicked off the great Easter egg hunt. It's a great honour to be the Easter Bunny at Ranum, and this time it fell to Matt D., who in turn managed to put out more than 2000 Easter eggs for the hunt.
Happy Easter to all!
The school reopens on Monday 28 March at 6pm.
International Maths and Science
We are looking for teachers who can teach International Maths and Science Studies at Cambridge IGCSE on the International line. If you can also teach one of our 50+ optional subjects, profile subjects and cultural subjects, then that would be absolutely fantastic.
Have a great weekend!
Best regards!
