01 Apr Good spring energy, great concert and April Fool's Day

Dear reader,

The Easter holidays have given students and staff a lot of good energy and it is super nice to feel how students are getting closer and how they are looking forward to the upcoming profile trips. As summer time moved more light hours into the evening, pupils have also moved outside and are enjoying doing homework and socialising on the lawns.

Concert with SANT

This week we had a great concert with the band SANT. They played fantastically well together and got the students into their creative music universe. At Ranum, the first set is always mandatory so everyone can get acquainted with different genres of music, and many chose to stay for the 2nd set as well.

We'll be heading out into the world again soon - stay tuned!

In the many profile subjects, preparations for the voyages in week 15 are nearing completion. The boats are painted and put in the water and next week the students will put on masts and sails. The dance team is putting the finishing touches on choreography and tonight they are at a big workshop at another efterskole near Horsens. There are preparations for the many journeys and a lot of information to share. Miami, Malta, Greece, Scotland, Scotland, Italien, Germany, New Orleans, Beijing, Cuba and Iceland will be visited by Ranum students, and we look forward to showing you pictures and stories from the many adventures.

In Friday's assembly, we announced the news that it is now forbidden to travel with suitcases and bags that you cannot look into. And the students were given an instruction in Ranum Efterskole's new travelling bag, which is waterproof, lightweight and can be reused for other purposes. The new RECBAG is available in several sizes and the hand luggage model is especially popular. Unfortunately, we received a lot of complaints from students who have just invested in an expensive backpack or suitcase for their travels 🙂 .

Saturday's big party: wedding!

This weekend is wedding weekend and the whole school is buzzing with preparations for Saturday's big party. The band is rehearsing in the ballroom, the flower arrangers are busy making table decorations, bridal bouquets, etc. The baking team is preparing the wedding cake and we have a whole team working in the kitchen. Lots of photos will be taken, so follow along on Ranum Efterskole FB since.

In the coming week, academic teaching will continue to prepare students for the upcoming exams, and the profile subjects will start their last big trip of the school year on Thursday.

Horse manure + Straw + Love = Mushrooms

The school can look forward to happy Danish mushrooms from st. Restrup Nordjylland, which our head chef, Henrik, has just been out to taste. Yum. Grown on horse manure and straw.
