28 Sep Good karma and preparation for Afterschools Day
Dear reader,
On Monday evening, Ranum was again filled with a lot of happy young people after an extended weekend. During the week we had a visit from Casper Steinfath and went to Aalborg Storcenter with dance and music. In addition, we have also filled the school with a lot of good karma.
Casper Steinfath
On Wednesday, our water sports students attended a lecture by Casper Steinfath, who has won both the European and World Championship titles in Stand Up Paddle Surfing and crossed the Skagerrak on a SUP board. It was an exciting talk, focusing on both the challenges and victories it takes to achieve the goals set. We got up close and personal with the training leading up to the trip across the Skagerrak and got an insight into what it takes to be one of the best in the world at Stand Up Paddle Surfing. We are excited to see what the next wild goal will be for Casper!
Ranum Roadtrip
On Sunday, we open the doors to you to the afterschool day, so you can get a glimpse into everyday life at Ranum Efterskole College. So on Thursday afternoon we filled up one of the school's buses with dancers, singers and musicians and headed for Aalborg to give you a sneak peek at some of the things you can come and hear about on Sunday.
Afterschools Day - come and visit us
We are ready to welcome you on Sunday with an international brunch at 10.00, followed by presentations about the school's values, teaching, profile and cultural subjects, as well as the international line. The students will also host tours during the day and in our biology room a few students will be ready to show you our collection of exciting animals including snakes, fish and spiders. The kitchen is preparing a large food court. You can see a detailed programme and register for the day here.
Good karma
Around Ranum, some students have hung nice quotes to spread good mood, recognition and put a smile on the face, but it doesn't stop there. On Wednesday, we cancelled all our evening activities in favour of an evening focusing on good karma. Students gathered in their rooms and talked about how they can create even more good karma in their rooms.
The football teams for the NJM for secondary schools
Two boys' and one girls' team fought bravely all Friday against a number of other North Jutland after-schools at a station in Aalborg. We are not a sports school, but many of our students have great talent and the teams did well. They also took home several wins and a lot of fellowship.
New Ranum Warehouse
We have published this year's Ranum Magazine and we think you should take a look at it here. We'll be happy to send you some magazines if you want to help distribute them, just contact the office.
Next week
Next week, we'll be packing our bags and getting out our passports, because when the weekend hits, we'll be off to exciting new experiences with the profile subjects.
We still have places available for this school year! If you know someone who would love a year at an afterschool school, we'd love to hear from you!
Greetings all of us at
