16 May Family weekend, corals in the cellar and lanciers
Dear reader,
The weekend has arrived and we welcome it with an overview of the week's events. Overall, it has been another busy afterschool week, filled with exams for most. All the written ones are now well and truly over, which means we can prepare for the oral ones that lie ahead. The week has also seen many other activities, which you can find out more about right here. Have fun.
Family visits
Last weekend the house was filled with some very special guests. Families from near and far had plenty of opportunities to get a glimpse of life at an after-school school, for example in various profile subjects. It was great to see the students welcoming and proudly showing around. We are delighted that the event was a success - thank you to all of you who reported back and to those who attended.

Coral Restoration expands
It's time for the corals to move into something bigger. Much bigger, in fact. In the drawings below, you can see what the new basement classroom will look like soon. In the middle (the green boxes) is what will be an aquarium of no less than 7000 litres. In addition, the current aquariums will be moved there, so there will be plenty of space for restoring and rebuilding corals for the Coral Restoration course. They won't be the only ones using the space, though. Nature and science classes will also benefit from the new facilities. We look forward to showing you the finished result, so keep an eye out. It will be a sight to behold.
Plans for the new facilities.
And that's how it looks now.
We barbecued in the sunshine
Who doesn't love to grill while the sun bakes? We certainly do, and the students are generally very happy when the kitchen spoils and sets up the grills. Was it the first real summer day? If so, we're looking forward to more of the same.
We practiced Lancers
The long-awaited gala is coming up and most people have found a partner. The other day, it was announced over the loudspeakers in all the houses that those who have not yet found someone to go to the gala with could come to a sort of meet-and-greet. We make a big deal out of the gala, and the school shows its best side that day.
Come the gala, come the Lancers, and of course it needs rehearsing. It may not be quite there yet, but the students have certainly made an effort to learn it. You can enjoy it here in the little video we've put together of the Lanciers rehearsal.
Outlines?
If you've been wondering what Outlines is, check out Jonathan and Mads's explanation of the subject. They also give examples of their own Outlines and finally some advice.
The sports field was trampled
The sports field, which is right next to the school, is being renovated. This means a brand new football pitch, athletics field, beach volleyball court and much more. It is expected to be finished in August and we are looking forward to expanding our sports activities when the new school year starts.
Family high school during the summer holidays
Go on an active holiday in week 27 or 28 with the whole family at Ranum Efterskole College. Click on the picture to learn more.
Next week
We're going on a well-deserved bedtime break, and looking ahead a little, there'll be a need for extra relaxation too. The next two weeks are very eventful. These include the Print Festival, New Students' Day (see school timetable), the school photo, a film day for the whole school and the last day of school.
That's all for now. Thank you for reading.
