11 Dec Christmas stories, cards and new profile subjects
Dear readerr
It's the week before the week we go on Christmas break, and even though the white Christmas barometer looks green and gloomy, we're enjoying the festive season and the community. Among other things, we have sent Christmas cards to future and former students, chosen new profile subjects and heard a Christmas story with a young version of Santa Claus.
At the same time, we have also seen this week that a student who went home on Wednesday last week has tested positive for Corona. This means that it has been eight days since the pupil has been at school, and of course we immediately started tracing close contacts and on that basis sent a number of pupils home for testing. In addition, around 150 pupils are being tested today to further detect chains of infection.
Well, no more boring news - let's get to the Christmas cheer and after-school life. We'll start in the principal's office.
Christmas cards must go
A group of students quickly gathered to pack Christmas cards and calendars when they were told that chocolate was involved. It was good that they stepped up so that the cards could get out in good time.
Christmas adventures with Jens
Our (almost) daily Christmas calendar on Facebook was enriched by Jens, who had written a Christmas story. It is about the always difficult gift-giving, about sadness and great emotions and about the sacred place of family life in the Christmas season. It is well put together and well told by Jens, who is an excellent storyteller. See for yourself below.
Check out Facebook for more Christmas posts this week.
Choice of new profile subjects
On Wednesday, we gathered in the banquet hall where students heard about the new profile subjects coming next term. And there was a lot to choose from. We have never had so many different proposals for profile subjects, and the students themselves were very engaged in talking about proposals. Most have now chosen what they would like to explore and become more skilled at in the communities of interest that the profile subjects together form.
Art auction with Imagination pictures
We held a live art auction with the many beautiful pictures and decorations the students made during Imagination Week. Money was raised for good causes and the creations found new homes.
Afterschool evening
January 13th is the Afterschools Evening, and like many other things it will be held differently this year. It will be digital and we are extending our tour dates again, so ring the bell around and tell people you know that you can still come to Afterschools Evening - digitally.
The coming weekend offers a wellness and well-being with wilderness bath, facial masks and generally a lot of coziness in the houses.
