Dear reader,

Welcome to this year's first newsletter. 2021 started, as you probably already know, with an extension of the closure, and therefore the students have unfortunately been sent home. Teaching, contact group meetings and efterskole life therefore takes place digitally. It is quiet at the school, where only a small handful of staff are still located. This does not mean that we do not send the week's news away, because even though the students are at home, we still keep up after school as best we can.

First encounter with a snowy landscape

The bubbles, who still live in the rectory, got a big surprise when it started to snow at the beginning of the week. Several of them come from places in the world where it is by no means normal for it to snow, and therefore they were elated by the white carpet that lay over their homes.

Craftsmen at work

Of course, we use the time wisely, and since the classrooms are not used at the moment, a group of craftsmen have toiled and dragged, together with the janitors, to have the ceilings replaced. They are well underway, and even though it seems completely crazy that tables and chairs are in the hallways, it will be good to have new ones set up.

Cake baking and online teaching

We try to spice up the online teaching with, for example, baking - as seen below, where Isa made torrijas with her Spanish team. And then we have had contact group meetings on Teams, where several made room tours and cooking. If there is anyone out there who has good ideas for what could be fun to do, then please send a suggestion to hulen@ranumefterskole.dk.

The rooms are empty - the house fairies water flowers etc.

Sus has been around the rooms in Kærhuset and see if everything was in order in the empty rooms. She has watered flowers and emptied bins so that they are well taken care of while the students are at home.
