26 Nov Parent Talks, The Old City and a vacant position
Dear reader,
Although we have already gone on a long weekend and most of the students have gone home to all corners of the country, here is an overview of the afterschool week at Ranum. Among other things, we've been on a tour of the old town, the 10th grade has had IBO for most of the week and then we had parent-teacher conferences yesterday. As you can also read in the headline, we have an exciting vacancy - all of which we will tell you more about here in the newsletter.
Happy reading!
Parent talks
There was a good atmosphere when parents and in many cases pupils had professional talks yesterday. We had great fun welcoming parents for physical conversations, and although some of them were done digitally on various communication channels, there was a positive feedback to come and have the conversations.
Olav gave a presentation on cultural studies and the whole process around the changes we have made, and if you weren't at school to see it, there is a link on the School Plan to the presentation.
The Old City in Aarhus
The entire 9th grade - who didn't have IBO this week - took the buses to Aarhus, where the trip included a visit to the Old Town. Here, the students were given the task of capturing various motifs, and this added a little to the Christmas spirit that is gradually taking hold.

The final choice of culture subjects
We have had the final choice of culture subjects, so before long we can start preparing for the slightly longer journeys.
Several countries have changed their travel restrictions in the last days. These include Japan, South Korea and Malaysia, which many students want to choose. That's why we want to bide our time and have made sure that reserved tickets can also be purchased as late as week 2. This means that we are extending the voting period until 3 January in week 1.
You can read more about the culture subjects we have this year by clicking here.
Future careers - international students
While the Danish students have had projects and IBOs, the international students have also had some exciting projects. They have been exploring their future career dreams, which also culminated on Thursday. Doctors, dentists, graphic designers were among the favourites.
In the coming week starts a new round of profile subjects. Under normal circumstances, the cultural period would start now, but as you know, it has been postponed, so we now have a period of Ski & Snowboard and a cultural trip to Rome. And then there's the wellness weekend next weekend. We are looking forward to it!
