07 Jan Ready for Departure & Efterskolernes Evening

Welcome back to the newsletter and Happy New Year!
It's the first Friday of 2022, and while many of you reading this are probably wrapping up your legs and getting into weekend mode, we're in full swing getting ready to go. Tomorrow we're off to Norway, and I'm sure a lot of people have noticed - including those outside the school - because Nordjyske ran an article saying that we're "...braving Corona to send nearly 500 students on a ski trip." And yes, we are, and we're really excited about it.

Students have been well occupied by homework this week, and there have been several fun features in the process. For example, Carsten and Rasmus took their Danish team on a virtual treasure hunt, where the students were given clues and then had to guide Captain Rasmus around the school on Teams. Another notable attempt to give online teaching a little extra spice was when Kristine and Art & Design made bread quotes to be placed "...out in nature for all to be inspired by and smile about."
Unfortunately, there's a little garlic in the fruit salad in this week's story, and that is that we've had to cancel the big city trip to Rome. It is simply not possible to go ahead with the trip due to the current circumstances and restrictions, so the students concerned have been given the choice of going to Norway, staying at home or going on a trip to Rome a little later in the year. We are all taking it in our stride and, despite everything, rejoicing at what is possible and what lies ahead.
