02 Dec Concert, sibling weekend, Christmas spirit and presentation of project assignments.
Dear reader,
December finally arrived and the Christmas spirit has risen several degrees. The week has been devoted to presentations of 9th grade project assignments and in 10th grade students have been working intensively on their TEBO video presentations, which make up their OSO submission. We have also had a concert with a visit from a band from the rhythmic high school. Last weekend the theme was Fitness and this coming weekend we will have a sibling weekend with visits from younger siblings from all over the country.
Fitness and Stronger weekend
Iron was lifted, technique was spoken and personal records were broken over the weekend. Students had the opportunity to take part in a workshop with the world champion in weightlifting John Terragni .
Presentation of project assignments & Global Perspective
The whole 9th grade worked on their project last week and this week they took turns presenting in front of the other students and teachers. It is a really good exercise in standing in front of each other and it has gone really well.
Concert with the Rhythmic High School
We witnessed a very inspiring and different concert with the Rhythmic School. There was a lot of light, sound and lots of smoke. It was a great experience. The concert was held in the ballroom, which has been the setting for many memorable experiences. This was definitely another one.
Christmas calendar atmosphere
The SO-ME team has started a new calendar tradition where students unsolicited ring to someone they care about and share loving thoughts.
Christmas calendar
We never get too old to watch the Christmas calendars on TV2 and DR, so on 1 December the TV rooms and cosy corners were filled with Christmas spirit in several layers.
Of course, we make sure that the programme throughout the week allows for these cosy moments because December and the Christmas calendar are just something special!
The first Culture lesson focused on sustainability and the SDGs.
On Monday afternoon, all students gathered to watch an Australian documentary from 2019 (2040). The film is about what will the future of the planet look like in the year 2040? "Documentarian Damon Gameau travels the globe to explore how we solve the climate crisis. He meets innovators and sees the very best ideas and technological solutions we already have at our disposal that can steer the climate of the future in the right direction. Expires: 31 Jan 2023" Source 2040 - the film of the future | Watch online here | DRTV
We highly recommend watching it together in familien, as it not only paints the world black, but also largely focuses on the technical solutions we already have in the world today.
This weekend is Siblings Weekend
The programme is packed with fun and activities including sibling cinema, BigBall battles, feeding the animals in Greenfingers, visiting the Coral lab and feeding the snakes. Of course, there's also Christmas fun and look-a-like competition.
In the coming week
The culture classes continue on Monday, when the students meet each other in the teams for the first time. Imagination and Natural Sports are also in full swing. On Friday there is a student party and the students are really looking forward to it.
Have a great weekend,
All of us from Ranum Efterskole College.
