06 Oct Science Day, World Heritage Celebration & Departure on Professional Programme Trips
Dear reader,
Flaming torches and artificial intelligence have been up close and personal for the students at Ranum Efterskole College with UNESCO's World Heritage Celebration of Aggersborg and Science Day at Aalborg University. At the same time, the air has been filled with excitement, joy and enthusiasm as we have been preparing for the upcoming Profile Subject Journeys. Today, Surf, Diving (Egypt), Cheerleading and Football bid farewell to their exciting trips.
During week 41, you can keep up with all the Profilfags journeys through our newsletters via our website, and Facebook and Instagram.
We wish all students and staff a great Profile Programme trip this coming week.
Happy reading and have a great weekend from all of us at Ranum Efterskole College.
UNESCO World Heritage Celebration
The UNESCO World Heritage Celebration of Aggersborg Castle was more fun than expected, most students thought, and it ended up being a great evening!
History lessons
The history lessons have taken place at Aggersborg with all the 9th grade teams.
Science Day
20 students participated in "Science Day" at Aalborg University. It was an inspiring day with various workshops ranging from architecture and design to maths, chemistry and science.
Muffins, pancakes and apple crumble on the menu
Baking had some mystery ingredients and had to improvise quickly. Our creative students made a variety of muffins (even homemade caramel), pancakes and an apple crumble! Check out the delicious cakes in the photos below.
Mule bags for the Profile trip
The icing on the cake for our carrier bags for travelling to Barcelona. We have painted and printed on carrier bags in Visual Design & Sustainability. And counting down to the Profile Programme trips!
First Lego League
In Danish 9th grade science, the students have been working with First Lego League and this year's theme "Mastermind". We have just had an internal competition where the winners will represent REC in the competition in Billund on 4 November. This year's winners were: Team 1 REC with their idea "StyleIt" Team 2 REC with their idea "REC Evening".
Headmaster's column
One of the biggest and first highlights of the 1TP5 year is approaching with the upcoming Profile Subject Trips. For the first 8 weeks, the students have been working on learning new skills in 22 different profile subjects, and in the coming week they will be tested in earnest in diving, sailing, etc.
Next week, new friendships are also strengthened and formed, because travelling together makes us open and curious about each other and the world.
When students and staff return, a well-deserved autumn break awaits everyone, and we hope that they will use it to recharge their batteries for the next chapter, which will soon begin with Cultural Studies.
Have a great weekend
Olav Storm.

Siblings Weekend
We're ready for the sibling weekend! Students' siblings will have the opportunity to experience an entire weekend at Ranum Efterskole College on 24-26 November 2023. Read the invitation below for even more information about the activities on the days. We hope to see you there!
Become a host family
Kaan and Benhur have been students at REC since their arrival in August. They are super happy to be here and have already had many great experiences. However, they still need to find a host family for the long weekends and upcoming Christmas and Easter holidays. Maybe it's you or someone you know? Please share so we can find some great families for these boys.
For questions and further information, please contact Nicoline from AFS at nicoline.nielsen@afs.org.
