24 May Garden Party, Waterslide & last Full Host tour
Dear reader,
This week has been filled with outdoor fun, where we have engaged in activities a little out of the ordinary! We've made sure that all evenings have been busy with events such as the big waterslide in Seminariehuset, Garden Party with ice cream parlour in Ranumhus and the last Full Host tree climbing trip. You can dive into all the sunny moments of the week in the newsletter right here!
Have a great weekend. We wish you all a great weekend!
Cosiness in the Seminary House
We don't take the warm evenings for granted at the Seminary House. We gather the students outside in the evening sun where they can cool off on the slippery water course. And of course, if you're not into water, we also organise indoor activities. Here, we've found the board games that unite students at the tables with laughter and laughter.
Garden Party
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. Another sunny day in Denmark and what better way to celebrate than with a nice ice cream? Many happy students who remembered their 'thank you' visited Ranumhus and some felt adventurous and tried 'guf' for the first time - not the last. We even had volunteers to help with both serving and cleaning up.
Full Host in Vejle
Our Full Host students have once again been on an eventful weekend trip. We climbed in the gorilla park and the students proved to be tough, resilient and strong and everyone climbed to the maximum of their abilities - amazing. This was our last Full Host trip!
10+ football girls
Last week, 10+ football girls played their last game of the year. The team is built from a core of girls who have had football as an elective all year, and we've been on the transfer market in between to fill out the team card. The team's strongest characteristic is their excellent humour, whether they play in good times or bad. The community around football has built bridges to many different students, and everyone, from beginners to international stars, has been welcomed into the team. We thank you for a year with many highlights and great experiences.
26th PVA Competition
In week 14/15, the students were out exploring the big world on their last Profile Subject Travels. In this connection, efterskolen has organised the traditional PVA Competition, where the best picture, video, article and yearbook page, based on the Profile Subject Journeys, compete. There are also prizes at stake, where students have the opportunity to win DKK 500 in cash, and the best of the best wins Apple Airpods Pro.
On Friday morning, a big ceremony was held to announce all the winners, hosted by students Jazz Priyo Jørgensen and Nicolai Moreno Andersen! You can watch the entire ceremony filmed live on our Instagram!

Headmaster's column
Dear reader,
This weekend we have New Student Day on Sunday. More than 500 excited young people come together with parents and siblings. It's a day of celebration where the butterflies in their stomachs hopefully land in a community that provides a little more security and direction to expectations. On the day, students will meet their new contact group and family group. They will try on the school clothes pack, which ensures that everyone has a name on their shirts and jackets, so we can build friendships faster from the first day of school. Parents will also go through a basic presentation on how we strengthen the school-home collaboration, create a common ground and stand together to be the solid "wall" that young people can lean on or play against in their transition years from child to young adult. We use terms like "helicopter parents", "Rambo dads" and "curling and tiger mums", but it helps to reflect the positions we as parents and schools can get caught in when there are demands and expectations in the process of becoming a young adult. On Saturday there is a festive carnival in Aalborg and we know that many current students participate while they are home visiting each other for the weekend. Experience from previous years means that we don't expect them to be back until after the New Student Day programme on Sunday evening.
In the coming week, all schools in Vesthimmerland will have a 2nd grade day, where they will go on a cultural journey around the world in various activities. On Thursday, we'll host this year's big Gala Party and Friday is the last day of school with a party and colours to celebrate the end of the academic classes and the start of the oral exams.
Have a great weekend,
Olav Storm Johannsen
Headmaster.
