29 Jun Outrouge including Award Show, Dream Festival & Graduation
Dear reader,
Thank you very much for the school year 23/24, and to student team 20. You have been through a year at Ranum Efterskole College, where together you have made it clear that this is the place to be, through the ultimate feeling of togetherness and unity. You have proved that Ranum is a place for development and making friends for life. We will never forget that!
In this week's newsletter you can see pictures and read stories from the ultimate Outro Week, which included House Cup, Home Hos, Award Show, Dream Festival and graduation. We also celebrated our 20th Anniversary, which you can catch a glimpse of in this newsletter!
Enjoy the last newsletter of the school year!
Happy reading and happy summer holidays!
20th Anniversary
Thank you to everyone who attended our 20th anniversary celebration! It was a memorable day with good energy all around the school, the best cakes and stalls, as well as music and guided tours. We inaugurated the large gable picture in front of the school facade with pictures of all staff and students from the past 20 years. The day ended with a big anniversary dinner for former students, the school community and former and current staff.
Thank you to everyone who lent a hand and made this day a reality, and a big thank you to those of you who gave speeches on the day. We appreciate and recognise everyone's efforts on this great day of celebration!
House Cup
On Tuesday in Outrougen, we organised the last House Cup of the year with competitions in disciplines such as running, badminton, basketball, football and golf. In the House Cup, the houses compete against each other, and this time it was the core house that came out on top. Congratulations!
Home at
We repeat the success of the intro week and invite all students home to visit their contact teachers. We enjoy a variety of activities including fruit and brunch in the backyard, a boat trip to Livø and reading letters written by the students themselves at the start of the school year about their expectations!
Award Show
On Wednesday evening, awards and titles were handed out to students who have made themselves most noteworthy in certain categories, such as Couple of the Year, Miss & Mr. Ranum, Humour of the Year and Cuckoo of the Year. Before the show started, all students gathered on the red carpet and had their festive photos taken in front of gold hangings!
Little Saint Hans evening
On Thursday evening, a small bonfire was set up next to Multi, where all participating students were given songbooks. A happy atmosphere spread as songs were sung around the warm flames of the bonfire.
Dream Festival
The last evening with the 23/24 year group was held in the spirit of togetherness. It was one of efterskoleår's biggest highlights that was on the schedule for the final week: Dream Festival! The festival was held in Næsby, where there was room for street food, tents, a large music stage and much more!
The music programme included our very own DJs from Ranum, "Bangerang, Chechi & Ragga" and DJ Paavig & Hvolby. In addition, artists such as ICEKIID, Selmani and Emil Lange, who was the big surprise artist on the poster!
Many more pictures will follow next week on our Flickr!
Dimission
At the end of the 1TP5 year, we concluded with the traditional graduation ceremony, better known as the Big Cry Day, for students, parents and staff. Awards were presented, speeches were given and songs were sung that made tears roll down the cheeks.
Among other things, the Rex Award was presented, which is given to a student who we believe embodies the same values of friendship and kindness that Rex did. This year the award went to Ragnheiður Inga Matthíasdóttir.
Thank you so much for a memorable graduation that exceeded all expectations!

Headmaster's column
Dear reader,
We had a grand anniversary celebration on Saturday with many former students and staff, all current students and staff, and the school community. And everyone helped to inaugurate the new gable painting above the assembly hall. The symbol of the more than 7300 young people and 200 employees who have helped shape Ranum Efterskole College over the first 20 years. The anniversary celebration weekend was replaced by Outro Week.
We have spent the last week preparing for the separation and cultivating the community from the big event in Fårup Sommerland, House Cup, community gatherings, contact group and family group hygge, where the students have opened the letter they wrote to themselves in the first week of the school year. The students put on a fantastic Award Show and also managed to light our St Hans bonfire, as well as singing community songs until the rain dissolved the song sheets and the flock. On Friday, all rooms were cleaned and the key fob was replaced with a wristband for the big Dream Festival Camp. Students and staff haven't slept much, but many tears have been shed and many memories and hugs have been shared. For some, it's the first time they've experienced the physical pain of being separated - and losing everyday life with their friends in efterskolelivet. For us adults, it hurts too, because we have come to love the young people so much, and we will never forget the 20th Anniversary team.
The 2023-24 school year is now unrecognisably over and we wish you all a great summer holiday and hope to see you again at summer school, REC-Union or as parents.
