Dear reader,
It has been another eventful week. Home, running, water sports weekend, lots of activities, classes and new friends. We can feel that the students are settling in. All while being blessed with fantastic weather. Now it's the weekend and here's a little summary of the past week.

At home with
On Wednesday, the students were in their contact groups, visiting their contact teachers at home. Here they enjoyed various activities and food prepared together.
Water Sports Weekend
Over the weekend, students could sign up to try different types of activities on the water. There were opportunities to try sailing, kayaking, canoeing, wakeboarding, SUP-boarding and surfing.
Evening dive
With the beautiful weather, an evening trip to the beach was organised where the young people could swim and enjoy the sunset.
Pancakes with ice cream
Last Friday evening, students were treated to pancakes and ice cream. A great end to the week.
Headmaster's column
Dear reader,
We are warming up for a record-breaking Vilsted Sø Race and Family afternoon. We're really pleased with the support and look forward to gathering students, parents, siblings and grandparents for a wonderful day. Some students have asked if their dogs can participate, and yes, it is possible on the walking route, and we'll be setting up a dog playground on the Multi Track. They're just not allowed in the dining halls and rooms. Everyone is welcome!
We are in the process of creating a new Ranum Magazine and hope that you will help spread the word about our school. That's why we're setting up a stall at Family Day, where you can get a Ranum bag with 5-10 magazines and a unique Ranum cup as a thank you for handing out to colleagues, schoolmates, family etc.
It is also possible to order a delivery of magazines via your student or by post if you want to share the knowledge of Ranum and do not have the opportunity to pick up a bag of magazines yourself. Order here.
The "at home" visit to contact and family teachers has brought us even closer together and the recent heatwave has emphasised that sun, warmth, swimming and play are like superglue in efterskole life. It's magical to experience a large group of students in the early evening hours cycling to the beach and swimming. It's freedom, community and incredibly healthy!
This weekend there are outdoor activities, the weather is with us and there are great opportunities to try new challenges and, not least, have fun together in nature with primitive cooking and accommodation.
Vilsted Sø Løb - register for the day.
There is great interest in participating in the Family Day and the Vilsted Sø Løb event. Parents and siblings must use two registrations.
One for the family day, so we know how many people are coming for the day and activities.
The registration deadline for participation in the day is 23.59 on 05/09/2024. After the registration deadline, we will send confirmation and ask registrants to select activities for the afternoon programme.
We send it to the race organisers who then make sure there are start numbers ready on the Friday before the race, which the student can pick up at school for their family.
REMEMBER that participation in the big event is free for students and their families, parents, siblings, grandparents etc.

Vilsted Sø Race for all on 14 Sep
In collaboration with the Lions Club, we are organising the Vilsted Sø Løb and combining it with an activity day for all students and families. We hope that many families will come to Ranum to take part and experience the efterskole atmosphere and community for a day.

We're holding an open house on 29 September from 10-17. Come and learn more about Ranum Efterskole, get a guided tour, taste the delicacies of our world cuisine and enjoy entertainment in the square.
Program for the Open School Day
10-11 a.m. International breakfast buffet in the canteen.
10 am - 5 pm Students show around and opportunity to talk to a teacher in the Café about enrolment and finances
10.30, 12.30, 14.00 & 15.30 Presentation about the efterskole life at Ranum by the principal in the main hall.
11 am - 5 pm World Cuisine serves refreshments in the dining room and on the plaza.
11, 13, 14, 15 & 16 am Presentation on the international Cambridge programme in Guldhorn Hall
10.15, 11.15, 12.15, 13.15, 14.15 & 15.15 The music team entertains on the square
