The Lessons
Did you know, for example, that the famous SHEMALE in Thailand had already existed in India and China a thousand years ago? When you choose Asian culture, you'll never be bored.
Our teaching content is very diverse, and first and foremost you will be taught Asian cooking. The famous phat thai, Japanese sushi, Chinese dumplings, Korean barbecue, Indian pancakes etc. will get your stomach used to Asian food before your trip. In addition, there will be several lessons in Kong Fu and Thai Qi training. The classes will also be in the language and we will invite our AFS Thai students to join the language classes.
Buddhism is the most important religion in Asia and we will find out the difference between being a monk in Thailand and in China or Japan. We will also delve into history and look at the Second World War in Asia.
Together we will explore Asian culture and its many facets, both academic and practical.
The trip
Although most Asian countries have closed their doors to tourists due to corona, Thailand still welcomes visitors with a smile. Although Asian culture varies, we can still experience the major and most popular cultures in Thailand. In Bangkok, there is not only "China Town", but also "Japanese Street", "Indian Road", "Korean Plaza", etc. At each place you will be able to experience the real culture of the country they represent.
Our trip will be full of activities: palaces, temples and markets are all a must-see experience in Thailand, and besides that we will visit the tropical fruit paradise called Chanthaburi. Here we will have an unforgettable taste-and-learn experience in the local orchards, where we will taste fresh mango, lychee and durian etc. straight from the tree. We will also have a chance to experience nature up close. We will climb mountains, enjoy beautiful views and swim in the water at a fascinating waterfall. In addition, a school or kindergarten visit, as well as Thai boxing training, may be added to our itinerary.
Corona: Restrictions, rules etc.
You must be vaccinated before departure and the third jab is recommended. PCR testing is required twice, once before we leave Denmark and the second when we land in Thailand. We will stay in a luxury hotel in Bangkok on the very first day when we arrive, while we wait for the PCR test result. Here we will relax and kill our jet lag before we start our amazing trip with a robust body the next day.
