22 Aug Students off to a good start
Dear reader,
The second week is over and the students can now add a lot of new memories from efterskolen to their thoughts. It's a short week and therefore the new Ranum bus will finally be tested, which with 6 routes connects Ranum with almost all parts of the country, Billund and Aalborg Airport. Of course, we hope it will exceed all expectations and be a lasting success for efterskolen.
With the first two weeks of the students' new efterskoleliv almost over, you can feel the young people starting to feel at home in the school environment. They have been brought even closer together after the Colour Party, House Cup and the start of their profile subjects. However, the highlight of the week for many of the students was getting their mobile phones back.
We here at efterskolen look forward to getting to know the students even better and creating the framework for the coolest efterskole year at Ranum.
The colour party
The colour party took place, where the students worked together to show their colour and theme to the rest of the school. There was a competition for best costume and best table decoration.
House Cup
On Sunday, Ranum efterskole's answer to the Olympics was organised: the House Cup. Here the students competed in various physical disciplines and were once again shaken together.
Profile Subject Day
The profile courses have started up and the students had a full day on Saturday to focus on their skills.
Mobiles back
On Tuesday, the students got their mobile phones back after cleaning. You might think it would have been unpopular, but when you ask the students, it has actually been a mostly positive experience. Many say that it's been nice to socialise without their phones and have felt more present. However, they wouldn't want to be without it again.

Concert with Sloe Jim
The 24/25 year group also attended a concert on Wednesday evening with the band Sloe Jim.
First Ranum Bus
The new Ranum bus is being trialled in earnest, with 6 routes connecting Ranum with virtually all parts of the country, Billund and Aalborg Airport. The initiative is necessary after the Efterskole bus announced its discontinuation in the spring, and we are now the only efterskole that now has this offer across the country. We are therefore looking forward to being able to offer this service to our students.

Students take the bus from the school's large car park, where there will be signs showing where the buses for Routes 1 + 2 + 3 stop.
Keep track of changes on FB Ranum Bus
Route 5 with the NT950X bus departs from the bus stop at Seminarievej.
Students and parents have booked tickets via our website and booking portal. It is important that the student has the ticket ready on their mobile phone or printed out so that the driver can scan the ticket. The buses must run on time, especially Route 1, which has 39 students travelling to Odden, Roskilde and Copenhagen.
It's also a good idea for the student to have the timetable itself printed out or on their mobile phone, so they are sure of where and when the bus is running. We hope it goes well and are very grateful on behalf of the community for your support! Thank you for your support.
If there are seats available on a bus, they can be booked up to departure at linked here but these are the last tickets on the bus, so there is no longer a guarantee of a seat. Therefore, remember to book Ranum Bus for weekends no later than the Tuesday before.
Headmaster's column
Dear reader,
Out in the car park is a large group of young people who are taking the new Ranum bus for the first time. Everyone is excited and we hope they get home safely to Aarhus, Copenhagen, Aalborg, Viborg, Herning, Silkeborg, Billund, Vejle, Fredericia or wherever they are going.

The students are also tired, because it has been a very eventful start with lots of activities, new subjects and especially new communities. It's really life-affirming and a fantastic experience to see how the young people work together with us adults to shape an everyday life together.
Some students have had great challenges, especially with missing their boyfriends and families, and we therefore have a few vacant places for girls. If you know someone who is interested in becoming a student at Ranum this year, please let us know. We look forward to seeing the students back on Sunday after 18:00.
Young people's choice of efterskole
We are participating in a large survey called Young People's Choice of efterskole. We would really like parents to fill out part of the survey as well. We have therefore shared a link on Skoleplan that we hope parents of this year's students will fill out before Tuesday next week.
Students will take the survey on Monday.
Vilsted Sø Løb - sign up for both the day and the race.
There is great interest in participating in the Family Day and the Vilsted Sø Løb event. Parents and siblings must use two registrations.
One for the family day, so we know how many people are coming for the day and activities.
The registration deadline for participation in the day is 23.59 on 05/09/2024. After the registration deadline, we will send confirmation and ask registrants to select activities for the afternoon programme.
A registration for participation in the Vilsted Sø Løb, where each participant must choose the distance.
The deadline for choosing a distance for the race is 29/08-2024 at 23:59.
We send it to the race organisers who then make sure there are start numbers ready on the Friday before the race, which the student can pick up at school for their family.
REMEMBER that participation in the big event is free for students and their families, parents, siblings, grandparents etc.

It happens
The students are already heading home on Thursday for their first long weekend. Therefore, it's a short week at Ranum Efterskole.
Vilsted Sø Race for all on 14 Sep
In collaboration with the Lions Club, we are organising the Vilsted Sø Løb and combining it with an activity day for all students and families. We hope that many families will come to Ranum to take part and experience the efterskole atmosphere and community for a day.

We're holding an open house on 29 September from 10-17. Come and learn more about Ranum Efterskole, get a guided tour, taste the delicacies of our world cuisine and enjoy entertainment in the square.
