13 Sep Friends Weekend, Vilsted Lake Run and Vegetarian Lunch
Dear reader,
We have come through the week well, and we are getting ready for the Vilsted Sø Run tomorrow. There are 945 students and parents registered, so the school will be well represented on the beautiful route tomorrow. We're really looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Family Weekend on Friday and Saturday after the race, and the programme for the weekend can be found further down the page.
So welcome to this week's newsletter - we take a closer look at afterschool life and the stories from the week that was. Enjoy!
Weekend of friendships
On Friday and Saturday last week, friends of the students arrived to see what is happening at Ranum. How do you live, what is everyday life like and all sorts of questions you might have when you don't go here every day were highlighted in different ways over the weekend.
The activities included making friendship bracelets in design, watching films in the cinema and baking cookies in gastronomy. In addition, there was a fun little session in the common room, which you can watch below.
In addition, there was a lot of fun in the rooms, trips around the school and a Counter Strike tournament on the big screen, where students could meet each other's friends, and this has been a great success in the corridors during the week.
Thanks to all you friends who visited us.

Sustainable lunch
We had a climate-friendly and sustainable vegetarian lunch, which tasted heavenly. At least once a week, the kitchen prepares a meal that is exclusively vegetarian - and it tastes fantastic!
Hong Kong visit
This past week we have had visiting students and teachers from Hong Kong. They come from our friendship school and have been accompanying both students and teachers for lessons, profile classes and evening activities. In addition, they have visited the local area and made a trip to Aalborg, among other places. So they have got a big portion of Danish culture and afterschool life, and it has been a pleasure to have them visit.
Ready for sea-race start
We've been training for weeks, and now the time has finally come. Tomorrow, Saturday, is Vilsted Sø Run and Family Day, and we will find out if the many morning exercise classes and the weekly jog have paid off. We look forward to welcoming the many families who will visit us over the weekend. By the way, there is a programme on the School Plan.
The picture is from last year - let's hope the weather will be better tomorrow.
The students were at a cultural workshop yesterday, where they had to choose their trip for January. The focus is on meeting other cultures and they could choose from 20+ different cultures. See the pictures by clicking on the image.
Events next week
Next week after-school life continues, and on Thursday there is the Harvest Festival.
