Costa Rica - C&R
Costa Rica Conservation and Reforestation: Costa Rica is rich in volcanic activity, possessing several living, steaming volcanoes you can explore.
Spectacular volcanoes, lush rainforests, gorgeous beaches, plus ecotourism. Costa Rica has a population close to 3.5 million people and no army. On December 1, 1948, Costa Rica abolished the military! Costa Rica's national park system claims some of the most complete ecosystems and biodiversity remaining in Central America. Considered one of the most biodiverse regions in the world, one of Costa Rica's main attractions is its rainforests. Scientists surmise that while Costa Rica covers a mere 0.03% of the planet's surface, the nation is endowed with over 5% of all life forms on earth. At the southern end of Costa Rica's Pacific Coast is the Osa Peninsula, widely recognized as the richest biological zone in Mesoamerica.
The Trip
This trip is and adventure and a nature expedition. Costa Rica's nature is so rich and unique that we will try to make the most of it!
We will go snorkling and hiking (during day and night). Part of our time will be dedicated to visit the rainforest, the cloud forest and the waterfalls. We will also spend part of our trip collaborating with local associations in different volunteer projects such as planting trees or beach cleaning.
The main focus on this trip will be conservation and reforestation. But we will also explore Costa Rica's culture and food.
It is a perfect travel for nature orientated students looking for an adventure!
