"Oceans of Hope High School is about everyone wanting to be a part
that a strong community, where we take responsibility for each other, ourselves and
our beautiful blue and green planet."
Mikkel Anthonisen / Founder of Oceans of Hope

The aim of the course is to help plan and carry out a longer sea voyage with the sailing ship Oceans of Hope. We work purposefully with the world goals,
in particular Nos 14 and 15, including in the Coral Restoration project. We work project-oriented from idea to reality and to make dreams come true.
The course prepares you to be a crew member on a long-distance vessel, so you're ready to set sail for distant shores.

The course takes place at Næsbyhus, 3 km from Ranum Efterskole College, and at Rønbjerg Harbour, where we have our maritime base with 10 identical boats and a
large racing boat. In Næsbyhus there are various workshops including metal, engine, wood and sewing. In addition to the common room, music and creative
there is also a sports field, shelters and a fireplace.

The course offers practical sailing in the school's 11 sailboats and the opportunity to take a certificate of proficiency, first aid and a radio certificate, as well as a PADI diving certificate if required. The course also includes educational courses such as high school singing, psychology, philosophy, a travel project and a number of electives. Ranum Højskole's Oceans of Hope course is a pilot project where students also take part in practical activities and organise leisure activities. Our slogan is "we are in the same boat on the same planet."
